                                                                                           Program Director

 

 

Responsibilities:

·         Plan overall theme and program for the summer.

·         Hire summer counselors

·         Send out newsletters to parents of campers.

·         Discipline and deal with campers that are problems.

·         Debrief staff at the end of the summer.

 

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree with a some background in working at a camp.

Salary: 30,000

 

 



                                                                             “In-Tents” Coordinator

 

 

Responsibilities:

·         Ensure the safety of all that are on the trip.

·         Hire the other staff that are going on the trip.

·         Plan out the trip and all the logistics

·         While on the trip, know where the group is going and prevent getting lost.

·         Drive the van or camp vehicle while on the five day trip.

             

Qualifications:

·         No college degree is needed, Experience in backpacking and wilderness, leading kids, and being a quality leader.

Salary: 2,800

 

 

 


                                                                           Wilderness Explorer Coordinator

 

Responsibilities:

·         Set a positive example of proper wilderness etiquette for all participants.

·         Explore, observe and learn about the natural history and wildlife.

·         Conduct walking/hiking tours while keeping all participants accountable.

·         Requires public speaking ability and an enthusiastic/theatrical presentation style.

·         Must be conscious of and provide for the safety and comfort of guests at all times.

 

Qualifications:

·         Accreted certification for Wilderness Exploring.

·         4 years of experience without a certification

·         Must be drug free (pre-employment screening and enrollment in random drug testing program is Coast Guard required).

·         Must be able to work varied shift hours, including weekends and holidays. Days off will be scheduled but must be willing to be flexible in meeting tour demand

 

 

Salary: 24,000

 

 

 

                                                                                                                   Ropes Course Coordinator

 

Responsibilities:

·         Inspects and maintains the high and low ropes course per the industry standard.

·         Hires and supervises the ropes course facilitators.

·         Responsible for scheduling ropes programs.

·         Manages course reservations to avoid schedule conflicts.

·         Responsible for maintenance, retiring, and purchasing of equipment.

 

Qualifications:

·         Education Minimum: High School diploma.

·         Experience Needed: Previous work on ropes courses and certifications required to facilitate the specific course.

Salary: Starts at $24,000 a year.

 

 

 


                                                                                       Maintenance Supervisor



Responsibilities:

·         Ensures facilities are in proper working and condition.

·         Supervises and schedules all maintenance employees

·         Sees that all repair requests are looked into and completed as appropriate.

·         Supervises lawn mowing and other greenery removal.

·         Orders repair equipment and oversees operations of the garage.

 

Qualifications:

·         Education Minimum- High School.

·         Experience Needed- Ability to make repairs and experience with the necessary equipment. Must have worked on maintenance crews previously.

Salary: Starts at $28,000 a year.

 

 

 

 
                                                                                                                          Head Chef



Responsibilities:

·         Involve overseeing the operations of a kitchen.

·         Determines which equipment and ingredients are necessary to keep in the inventory

·         Decides the menu, the specials, the frequency with which the menu changes, the sizes of portions and the garnishes that are used

·         Establishing good relationships with suppliers ensures that the camping facility will receive better discounts and contract terms.

·         Making the schedule for the kitchen staff

 

Qualifications:

·         4 year degree in hospitality or 6 years of experience in a similar setting

·         Must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills and have the ability to motivate others.

·         CPR-First Aid certified

·         background check

                                                                                           Secretary

Responsibilities:

·   Direct all incoming calls and students to the appropriate area/person

·   Run all departmental reports and audits, performing data verification and/or correction

·   Provide administrative and customer service support

·   type, file, organize, photocopy, and handle all other clerical duties as needed

·   Monitor, order, and stock supplies such as art supplies, equipment, first aid etc.

 

Qualifications:

Education Minimum: Associates degree

Experience needed: none

Salary Range: Starting at $24,000 a year

 

 


                                                                                   Arts and Crafts Coordinator

 

Responsibilities:

·   Keep art room organized and clean

·   Keep inventory of what needs to be ordered, report to secretary weekly

·   Plans, schedules, implements and evaluates a program of individual and/or group activities based on the consumer needs.

·   Coordinates and participates in consumer’s activities designed to promote social interaction, reality orientation and intellectual stimulation.

·   Continually having new activities, provides a weekly schedule of what the activity will be for each day.

 

Qualifications:

Education Minimum: High School

Experience needed: needs to show that they have planned creative programs and implemented them.

Salary Range: Starting at 2,200 for the summer


 

 

                                                                               Intense Explorers Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise staff and make sure they know and are doing and their schedule daily.
  • Communicate with other coordinators and directors to let them know our schedule, so they know where the kids are.
  • Plan camp programs for the High School campers.
  • Hire staff and evaluate staff.
  • Hold staff meetings.
 

Qualifications:

·         -Bachelor’s degree in camp administration or related field.

·          Directors Certification by the American Camping Association.

·         Current CPR and first aid certifications.

                                                      

Salary:  $23,000 - $30,000






                                                                                           Counselors (18)



Responsibilities:

·         Ensure safety of not only children in their tents but also the campers that are around them that have been put into their care.

·         Responsible for the campers to be on time to their events.

·         To report anything that is deemed negative and beyond normal acceptable behavior.

·         Help the campers to become more responsible.

 

 

Qualifications:

·         -CPR/First-Aid Certified

·         Wilderness first responder certified

·         Minimum of high school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.

·         Clean criminal record

Salary: 2,200



 

                                                                                                 Nurse

Responsibilities

Ÿ  First aid for minor injuries

Ÿ  Communicating specific camper health needs (allergies, special diets) to staff

Ÿ  Liaising with local doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies

Ÿ  Communicate with parents

Ÿ  Accompany sick/injured campers or staff to the hospital or to medical appointments

Qualifications

Ÿ  RN

Ÿ  Good bedside manner, friendly and personable

Ÿ  Strong assessment abilities

Ÿ  Prior experience with children (does not have to be in a medical capacity)

Ÿ  Enjoy an active lifestyle

Ÿ  Team player

Salary -$3,500 for 8-week session)

 


                                                                                              Nurse Aid

Responsibilities

Ÿ  First aid for minor injuries

Ÿ  Communicating specific camper health needs (allergies, special diets) to staff

Ÿ  Work under the direction of the camp Nurse

Qualifications

Ÿ  FR-D or EMT-B (at least 1 year of experience in pre-hospital care)

Ÿ  Good bedside manner, friendly and personable

Ÿ  Strong assessment abilities

Ÿ  Prior experience with children (does not have to be in a medical capacity)

Ÿ  Enjoy an active lifestyle

Ÿ  Team player

Salary- $3,000 for 8-week session

   

 

                                                                              Waterfront Coordinator

Responsibilities

Ÿ  Provide supervision for program staff designated to the waterfront (lifeguard, canoe instructor, etc.).

Ÿ  Provide regular oral and written feedback to waterfront staff.

Ÿ  Attend and participate in senior staff meetings as required.

Ÿ  Ensure the waterfront area is free of hazards and safe to operate on a daily basis

Ÿ  Plan and develop waterfront programs

Qualifications

Ÿ  Experience with aquatic facility management

Ÿ  WSI certified

Ÿ  Current First-aid and CPR

Ÿ  Current Boat Operator’s certification.

Ÿ  Prior canoeing and kayaking experience.

Salary- $2,800 for 8-week session

 

 

                                                                                                   Lifeguard

Responsibilities

Ÿ  Ensure the safety of waterfront patrons through preventative life guarding practices

Ÿ  Assist with program instruction

Ÿ  Report unsafe situations regarding equipment and facilities to the waterfront coordinator

Ÿ  Respond to waterfront emergency situations

Ÿ  Incident reporting

 

Qualifications

·         At least  16 years old by time of employment

·         American Red Cross(ARC) waterfront Lifeguarding/first aid

·         ARC CPR/AED for lifeguards

·         ARC Administration for Emergency Oxygen

·         Pass physical exam
